The Mel Brown Organ Trio has a monthly First Saturday gig as part of Tyrone Hendrix' "Lunch & Soul" series. But for the April edition, Chicagoan Michael Raynor will fill in for Mel on drums. Since Renato and I play regularly with Michael--most recently at the Seaside Jazz & Blues Festival--we'll be just fine. Come check it out if you can: this is a nice neigborhood venue, and the event is all-ages and no cover charge! (Weather willing, we'll be playing in the outdoor performance space out back.)
