Soul Cookin' is an all-star blues band that has a ball every Wednesday playing at Blackwell's, an intimate neighborhood bar in Portland's Hollywood District. The band includes Lloyd Jones, guitar; Carlton Jackson, drums; and Dave Kahl, bass--with all three vocalizing--plus special guests. (I'm with the band now semi-regularly, as my friend Dover Weinberg has joined the Robert Cray Band.) This is a really fun scene: a great way to spend a Wednesday evening!
