Soul Sisters Productions Presents: A Tribute to Classic Soul Music I'm looking forward to bringing my exciting, critically-acclaimed soul music tribute band to Washougal! Since 2006, the Portland Soul All-Stars—made up of some of the Northwest's top blues & soul artists--have staged a dozen concerts in Portland, Oregon--at the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival and at Jimmy Mak's. These popular shows have included tributes to soul music greats James Brown, Wilson Pickett, and Etta James, as well as to Memphis Soul, Philly Soul, and Romantic Soul.
Making up the All-Stars for the Washougal concert: vocalists Sean Holmes & Tahirah Memory, saxophonist Renato Caranto (recently on tour with Esperanza Spalding), drummer Micah Kassell, guitarist Mike Doolin, and myself. The repertoire will include classic soul music from the '60s and '70s, played with the spirit & spontaneity of the original performances.
