I'm excited about playing with alto saxophonist Hailey Niswanger (pronounced "NICE-wonger") and her former mentor, legendary Portland trumpeter & educator Thara Memory. Niswanger is just 22 years old, but is already extremely accomplished, having graduated from the prestgious Berklee School Of Music and shared the stage with some of the top jazz musicians in the world, including Esperanza Spalding (with whom she's currently touring). Memory has played with artists ranging from James Brown to Portland's own Mel Brown, and is one of the top jazz educators in the nation.
