There will be many tribute shows for the late, great Etta James. But this one will be special, featuring four great NW soul singers--LaRhonda Steele, Lisa Mann, Lady Kat, & Mark Wyatt--with Etta's music put in context via a bit of storytelling. Etta's early mentors and collaborators, including Johnny Otis, Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, Little Richard, and Johnny "Guitar" Watson, will feature in the musical & verbal narrative.
Filling out the band will be myself, Hammond B-3; Renato Caranto, sax; Peter Dammann, guitar; and Micah Kassell, drums.
