Paul was always a stickler for avoiding cliches, but this song was chock full of them, starting with the "another mule kicking in my stall" lyric. The reason is that the song was tongue in cheek--a sort of demented send-up of the blues genre's more tired conventions.
Unfortunately, most CD reviewers missed the joke! But Paul spelled it out for the Notodden audience right off the bat.
