The late, great Sweet Baby James was dubbed, "a living landmark of Portland jazz" by Willamette Week. We musicians called him, "Portland's Ray Charles." This CD captured our third gig together--playing in front of an enthusiastic blues festival crowd. Cascade Blues Association president Greg Johnson was blown away, writing that our performance, "definitely falls in with the best of the festival's celebrated history."
Personnel: Sweet Baby James, vocals; Peter Dammann, guitar; Anthony Jones, drums; Janice Scroggins, piano; and myself, Hammond B-3.
